Brew Bracket Photo Journal

Yesterday marked the second Brew Bracket competition. This competition showcased this state's stouts. Included in the festivities were 14 different Indiana breweries. Breweries were split into four divisions: North, South East and West. Two breweries were given a bye for the first round of the competition.

The bracket looked something like this by the end of the competition. Bier Brewery took the competition with their Fuggit Stout. When asked why he called it that, brew master Darren Connor simply said,"We couldn't figure out what malt to put in the beer; so we just said 'fuggit' and put 'em all in!"

Before the competition started, this was the scene at the Our Land Pavilion at the Indiana State Fair Grounds.

Overall, the event was a success. I was happy to be a volunteer at the Brew Bracket Stout Competition and even happier to see Bier Brewery win. There are going to be some great things to come out of that little brewery.
